Iron gates
Custom Iron Gate
A custom pedestrian gate closes off a set of steps that climb through a stone retaining wall, hung between two masonry columns topped with lanterns.

The Need
The opening between the columns needed a gate sized to the gap that would close off the steps while keeping the view through to the garden.
Design and Fabrication
- Arched top rail rising toward the center of the gate
- Evenly spaced vertical pickets
- Gate frame sized to the opening between the two stone columns
- Black finish to match the dark fixtures on the columns
Installation
The gate was built to the measured width between the columns and hung so it clears the bottom step and the walkway as it swings.
Result
A gate that fits the masonry opening closely and suits the stonework around it.
